Smooth is Fast - Part 1
Marn had taken his time again that morning, with an early wakeup and the review of a number of reports and tactical analysis. One couldn't do well at their job if they didn't understand the likelihood of everything. He stood just outside the shuttle bay doors waiting on FireFly. She wasn't late, he just wondered when she would arrive, not knowing her schedule, but intaking the data and seeing what the potential future anticipations for her could be, was of interest to him.

It was only a few moment before she walked up to him and gave a nod. "Shall we check out the transport then? I think it's probably the one thing for Blackwatch you haven't seen yet."

"Actually it's considered a multi role craft. It can do low atmosphere attack runs as well and provide limited air support as well as CASEVAC. I have been working with them in the simulator so I am quite familiar with it already." His face didn't change at all the entire time he spoke in a more matter of fact way, and Jessica allowed a small grin as he went on about it.

"Well then Prophet, let's go check it out."

The pair walked through the doors and looked down the way, finding two of the craft next to one another but only one with the aback ramp open. The pair made their way over to it and looked around to see if anyone was nearby.

A bright blue flash erupted from the open ramp. "OW Dammit!" Joker cried out "Not so hard!" he said to the ship. He crawled out from under the pilot seat console and got up. He walked toward the aft section of the ship to get his tools. Running his hands on the cold bulkhead when he saw Firefly and Prophet walking toward him. He dusted off his uniform and called out to them "Up here, I'm Jaxom, call me Joker."

Marn raised an eyebrow, seeing the rank a moment later. An Ensign. If this was their pilot, things would be interesting. He however was also the first to respond. "Prophet, recon specialist on Bulwark, first group. What exactly are you doing up here sir?"

Jessica stood back and smiled at the interaction, wondering if the young man was okay. "Signals Intelligence, FireFly. Lieutenant Hoshino recommended we swing by to get a real look at one of the transports. Although I think Marn here knows it better than most of us do already." She was half serious and half teasing.

Joker, tossed a burned a badly burned sensor onto a pile of damaged components. Walked over to his new teammates, and shaking there hands vigorously. "On the way out here we had a chance to put Vighross through her paces, lets just say some of the standard civilian components were not up to the task. This is not just a bus it's a Covert Insertion Transport," He started the tour by walking around walking around the ship, "She has an Asymmetrical Warp Drive hidden beneath these panels, the field is projected a few centimeters off of the hull creating an erratic signature that is easy to dismiss. It's bumpy out the gate but she smooths out once she warms up."

Marn took a look at the pile of components. "That's disturbing, a brand new craft and you're already burning out parts. We'll never make it back from our first mission in this thing.."

Jessica returned the handshake "Maybe a few test runs will help take out the bumps and recalibrate the inertial dampeners. If she has trouble at warp she's gonna be a mess in the atmosphere, and then no one will be safe from needing puke bags."

Heading back up the ramp into the aft most compartment, containing 6 bunks and a head with a shower, "standard accommodations for the crew but on longer trips we may be hot racking." Joker stopped near the at the forward end of the berthing section and looked into a red light on the door control panel, "Input your biometrics here or at your station to activate privileges" Continuing forward the door to the main mission bay opened revealing an absolute mess of parts, several PADDS running diagnostics and a large spool of new opti-cable.

"THIS, is where all the fun happens. "Joker started pointing, over here the techs are updating the EWP to include Tachyon Emissions Dampeners, and a new Subspace Jammer for you, Firefly." He then gestured to a secured console on the other side of the room, "For you Prophet, they finished installing a recon suite that you can swap out based on the mission perimeters. "Science and weapons are in the cockpit, and over there," he pointed to the back wall, "surgical bed and basic chemistry lab." Joker was eager to show he was on his way to mastering the systems of the transport, to be the best team member.

Marn stopped dead in his tracks with the mess all over the place "You do realize this ship isn't mission capable. My recon station setup doesn't really matter at the moment to be honest. We're going nowhere in this heap. Statistically, we'll die on our way to the mission itself. I'll get my Will revised."

Jessica looked around and shook her head "I would suggest you get some engineers up here to help immediately because put frankly, if the Captain comes and finds the ship like this, he's going to lose his shit. I'm not kidding. You can't finish this off yourself Ensign."

"Not at all, Chief," held his hands up, "the techs all went to lunch, but I wasn't hungry so I started tracing an overload in the flight control system, one bad relay lead to a the next and here we are. They installed the uncased civilian grade isolinear proc chips and Opti-cable." He traced with his finger from the cockpit, across the ceiling to the ODN Relay and a fresh looking Isolinear bank. "We are changing the flight control ODN Trunk and isolinear module with one that's insulated so we can avoid the risk of another failure down the line."
