Bulwark Actual - Part 1
Marn was the first to arrive, he entered the room and made note of the long table and the display over on the wall. A typical meeting room, just the place he would end up giving briefing to higher ups, wasting his time listening to the bureaucracy in making tactical decisions that required much more decisiveness in the moment. He walked over to the replicator and ordered himself glass of water before finding a seat in the middle of the table on the opposite side so he could watch who else came in.

It wasn't very long until Jessica walked in herself. She made note of Marn and was glad to see someone else she knew already there. Having received the notification for the team meeting, she still wasn't sure whom else had been assigned, but it didn't matter. She was there to be part of the team regardless of who was on it, and do her job. She sat down across from Marn and gave him a nod "Good to see you again, Prophet." She knew he wasn't one much for pleasantries, and at least wanted to greet him.

"Firefly" he replied. "I hope this meeting proves to be worth my focus, 've been looking at more scenarios to run and make sure I'm sharp for our first mission. After we complete the final step of course. I'm ready."

Khalil and Kaelen made their way to the conference room in silence. The Lieutenant had of course filled Kaelen in on his interaction with the Captain, including policies for compartmentalization, and the training evaluations up coming. He stopped short of the door so as not to trigger the sensor, "Should I introduce myself with my code name or my name? It's not like it's not on my file"

"Kal, you're over thinking this! This is hardly our first team briefing," Kaelen looked up into the eyes of her friend and team leader, "You are 203 years old sir, and you still get the first-day-of-school jitters?"

Khalil flashed that boyish grin and his face heated up as he blushed. "You're right K, and that's the last time we can have informal names in front of the team. From here on its code names in front of the team" He took a calming breath and exhaled the levity. The doors opened to a room with both of Bulwark's other team members waiting patiently.

"Good Afternoon, I'm Lieutenant Hoshiono, you can call me Starfield this is Chief Barel" Khalil paused for a fraction of a second, his mind momentarily blanking on Kaelen assignment sheet.

"Cinder," Kaelen smoothly filled the blank.

"Ah, yes. Thank you," Starfield said, recovering his composure. "Welcome to Bulwark. Let's get introductions out of the way so we can get down to business." They took seats at the table, looking between Prophet and Firefly to signal them to introduce themselves..

Jessica grinned as the two entered and Khalil made the introductions. It was obvious to her that the Lieutenant was a little nervous but that was okay. It meant he cared about his role and his presence. "I am Chief Warrant Officer Jessica Merida, your Signals Intelligence Specialist. I have a lot of time out on this front already so if I don't know what to be looking for, you might as well send me back to Earth" she said lightheartedly. "Callsign is FireFly."

Marn had been observing everything so far, a neutral feeling on everyone. "Recon Specialist Second Class Marn Trosk. I cut my teeth on the Cardassian front and was in the top percentile for operational reconnaissance. Statistically, you have the best recon specialist on board. I was given the callsign Prophet in my previous assignment and have simply allowed it to remain since."

He was matter of fact and to the point, not giving any sort of attitude or arrogance, he mainly wanted the rest of the team to know whom they were working with. Taking a sip of water, the young man waited for the briefing to continue.

Cinder took her cue to introduce herself. "Chief Kaelen Barel, I served as breach and demolitions on the Cardassian front. I'm your scientist. They gave me the callsign Cinder" She kept her contribution brief to keep things moving.

"I too cut my operator teeth on the Cardassian front as an engineering and breach, I just came from a short tenure at the Academy Advanced Tactical Command. I must say it feels good to be out here." Khalil smiled, honored to be among this wealth of knowledge and experience.

"Knowing what I know about you both so far I'm sure you have already processed the Blackwatch doctrine. Questions or concerns, I can help with clarification. Both of you have logged hours in the simulator, If you haven't already we need to schedule your evaluations. Once you've completed we will conduct a short debrief and have you sign the covenant. I'm not sure if the Captain and Admiral want to make a big deal of it but standby for an hour of pomp in the near future."

Cinder sucked her teeth in child-like disgust. "Do you remember Raymond's ceremonies?"

Starfield's eyes shifted to Cinder, "You mean our trauma bonding sessions?"

"You know after you left, I had to go to those alone?" Cinder accused.

Starfield rolled his eyes. "I warned you, burdens of command and all!" Starfield and Cinder chortled but managed to restrain full-on outburst. Starfield cleared his throat, "Sorry, that's a story for another time."

Clearing his throat again to finish the last two points on his agenda, "I like to train first thing in the morning, in my last two commands we trained together, I invite you all, but I understand if you have other duties, and preferred schedules; but if you train with me I'll make breakfast and I brought 20 kg of my favorite coffee from Earth." He paused for a moment to see if Prophet and Firefly had the same experience with field replicator "coffee".

Marn gave a nod "I am usually up quite early to go over tactical reports, so I will certainly be available for morning team training. Currently I have no assigned shifts in tactical but that is intentional as my department would prefer I focus on my training here, whether in a team or individual format. I will continue to utilize my afternoons and evening for individual improvement. As for my evaluation, I completed it exceeding well above the projected standards. I traded a small amount of time to increase the team survivability rate over sixty six percent. I also do look forward to the coffee."
